Kitchen Galatta is a cookery show which presents a variety of delicious, mouth watering and healthy food prepared by celebrities and chefs. Today’s specialities are Jangri & Kara Seeval, prepared by chef Rajmohan.

Jangri

Ingredients:
Urad dal, sugar, corn flour, rose essence, vanilla essence, badam, pista, saffron, salt, ghee.
Method Of Preparation:
Soak urad dal for half an hour.
Grind it in a mixie and add cornflour, food colour, salt.
Mix well into a dough.
Put this dough inside a jangri mould.
Press and deep fry in ghee and oil.
Prepare sugar syrup, add rose essence and vanilla essence.
Add the fried jangris to the syrup.
Take it out from the syrup.
Garnish with badam, pista, saffron and serve.

Kara Seeval

Ingredients:
Bengal gram flour, rice flour, fried bengal gram flour, garlic, dried red chilli, asafoetida powder, cumin, sesame seeds, curry leaves, salt, oil, ghee.
Method Of Preparation:
In a wide bowl add bengal gram flour, rice flour, fried bengal gram flour, asafoetida powder, sesame seeds, salt and keep aside.
In a pan dry roast cumin, curry leaves, garlic with the skin, dried red chilli and grind.
Add this to the flour mixture.
Add ghee, water and knead into a dough.
Put this dough inside a murukku mould in small portions.
Press and deep fry in oil.
Garnish with fried curry leaves and serve.
