Tamil Cinema will stop Its activities for three months
No Tamil Film Production and Releases for Six Months?
News has broken out that at the recently conducted first General Body meeting of the Tamil Film Producers’ Council for the year 2015 members have decided to stop all Tamil film production and releases for six months so as to give time to assess various factors that bring losses to the 95% of the producers.
The meeting chaired by council chief S. Thanu and attended by secretaries T. Siva and Radhakrishnan and Treasurer P.L. Thenappan and other members came to the conclusion that the industry is strife ridden due to the major threat posed by piracy and other factors like big films killing small films at the box office and the only way out is to stop all production and release activities for six months, which will give ample time to streamline releases of films and work out measures to effect a turnaround in the fortunes of the industry.
Some members suggested that a three month hold would do and it is been decided to take a call after consulting all the other councils.
